Asociación Pro Mejoras de Playa Tamarindo is the town residents’ association, and handles the many important issues not addressed by the official government entities.

For months now, the Board of the Directors of the Pro Mejoras Association has been struggling to keep the non-profit betterment Association afloat, but lack of community support continues to threaten its survival.  Currently, there is a limited functioning Board of Directors and, without support or money from the town, Tamarindo unfortunately has no representation with either the local or central governments.

The lack of resources further impedes the continuance of the alameda clean-ups and the spraying to control the proliferation of the mosquito that carries the dengue virus – both integral in last year’s low incidence of dengue.  In addition, if funds aren’t acquired soon, there will be no follow-through with the projects that are currently on the table and which, in many cases, have required years of work – such as the Regulatory Plan, now in its final stages.

If you care about your town and hope to see it protected and represented, please contact the Board of Directors at bodapmt@tamarindocommunity.org to find out how a donation of money and/or time can make a difference.
